I started writing Zombies Ate My Poodle! (ZAMP!) as a book for boys who wanted more action and less “descriptions” in their stories — because those are the kind of books I’ve always loved.

What Is ZAMP! About?

The night after a zombie virus is released in town, 12-year old Zak wakes up to find his poodle Jeffrey is now a zombie and his parents are missing. With the town in chaos, Zak decides to use the family juggling props to fight the zombies and rescue his parents. (Seriously, he has a plan.)

Along the way Zak and Jeffrey team up with Amie and her zombie cat Pookie and plan the rescue together -- only to discover they are too late! Not only have Zak's parents been turned into zombies, but they are King and Queen of the undead and are putting together a zombie army to get Zak.

Because they miss him.

And are hungry.

One chance left — with Amie’s help Zak must get his hands on the rumored zombie cure!

Well, it could happen. I met my wife at a juggling club meeting in Seattle and both our kids are great jugglers, so family get-togethers are full of flying objects! I couldn’t leave something so important to our family out of the story!
